FAQ usually stands for Frequently Asked Questions. Nobody has asked anything yet, so I’ll try to anticipate your questions. Please let me know what I have missed.
Who can use this website?
Any teacher in the Obirin ELP should feel free to upload, download, or comment on materials on this website. Other teachers may be able to download materials (Check back for more information on this.)
What can I do on this website?
You can :
- search for materials to download
- ask and answer questions about things you find here
- upload your own materials to share with ELP teachers
If you’ve got any other bright ideas, let me know.
What can I find here?
Handouts, lesson ideas, links to good stuff, schedule and admin information.
How can I find what I am looking for?
There is always a Search box on every page. It works pretty well. Try something like comp and sched to see what you get. You can use keyword tags to make it much easier for others to find just what thay are looking for.
What should I do if I still haven’t found what I’m looking for?
Create it yourself and upload it! There is a pretty good chance that you haven’t found something because it doesn’t exist yet.
How do I get materials onto my own computer to print them out?
Links to files will be underlined just like everywhere else on the WWW. Just click once to download. Depending upon the way your own computer is set up, the file will probably open up all by itself. If the file doesn’t open by itself, look on your Desktop or in your Internet Downloads Folder. If you are mouse-savvy, right-click the link for more choices.
Where and when can I use the ELP Materials website?
No more waiting at 8:09 am to leaf through that one binder stuck on shelves behind the copiers in the PFC. No more trolling through ELP Shared Files for that thing you saw last semester. “Now where did that $%&! file go…?” Access these materials from anywhere: PFC, Tokubokan, PC classrooms, at home, or even the teachers’ room at your other job.
I still don’t get it. What should I do?
Well, give it a shot anyhow. This website is pretty tough to actually wreck in any way. And, it is very easy to fix. Still stuck? Ask me, anybody else on the Media Resources team, or one of your friends who is good at using the Intarweb.
Still no luck? Email Ted, or type your question below, and hit “Submit Comment” to post it at the end of this page. You’ll be doing us all a favor because then everyone will be able to read the problem and the solution.
