This is simple guide on the procedures for submitting content for the elpweb.com sites.
Please don’t email files to me!
Please make sure all files you drop in the Drop Box are clearly labelled! I will be deleting things with no clear purpose.
Please keep the originals of any documents or files you submit, as after I have added the content to the web sites I will delete the files from my computer.
I will add the content to the sites as soon as I can!
Just remember that I will do all the behind-the-scenes stuff to get it online.
Thanks very much … in advance.

If you would like to add a self-introduction to your teacher page:
• Have a look at the introductions written by other teachers - just to get an idea of what we are after!
• Create a Word .doc, and name it: yourname_selfintro.doc
• Write your self-introduction. You be the judge of length / content / difficulty, but remember if it is too long, or too difficult to read, nobody will read it!
• Save the file, and drop it into the ELP Web Drop Box in Shared Files.
If you would like to add a self-introductory movie to your teacher page:
• In this case it’s best to talk to me about this before you start work.
• Once you do start work, if you are using iMovie to put the film together, any of the full-time teachers will be able to give you tips and guidance - as they have all authored their own movies.
Things to keep in mind:
• You don’t have to use any video content - powerful ‘movies’ can be made using only photographs.
• It’s very important that you talk to me before you start, as otherwise you may end up producing a movie in a format that is not compatible with elpweb.com.
• The final compression (making the file size small enough to be included on a web site) must be done by me, so if you are making your movie at home you are going to need a way of transfering a very large file to the PFC.
If you would like to propose a site for the Quick links section:
• Create a Word .doc, and name it: yourname_quicklinks.doc
• Write the following information: Name of site / URL / Short description written in easy-to-understand English / An indictation of difficulty (1,2,3) / Category it should be listed in (links can be listed in multiple categories)
• Indicate if you will be willing to write a guide for students on how to use the site. If you are willing to do, please read the next section.
If you would like to write a ‘How to’ guide for a site in the Quick links section:This could be a guide to a site you have proposed yourself, or one already on the site.
• Create a Word .doc, and name it: yourname_sitename_guide.doc
• Refer to a guide that I wrote to get an idea of what is required. (You are free to organize the guide in any way you like, but for continuity it may be better to follow the format I used.)
• Save the file, and drop it into the ELP Web Drop Box in Shared Files.
If you are a full time teacher wishing to submit content for the Foundation section:
• Talk to your level coordinator first.
• Talk to me so we can decide on the how the content will be presented on the web site.
• Generate the files, and drop them into the ELP Web Drop Box in Shared Files.
If you would like to submit content for the Skills Help section:
• Talk to me first, as there will be many things to talk about!

Richard,
In the interest of conserving screen real-estate I inserted a [more] tag to split this entry. Readers can click more… to read the complete entry. Otherwise, this fills several screens.
Thanks,
Ted
